Restore Your Dental Health with Effective Repairs

Maintaining overall health is closely linked to having healthy teeth. Over time, however, teeth can become compromised due to issues such as cavities, cracks, or wear from misuse. Dental fillings are a solution to repair and restore these affected teeth.

Whether your teeth are damaged from habits like nail biting, suffer from painful cavities, or are chipped from an accident, our dental team is here to provide the care and support you need.

back teeth.

When is a Dental Filling Necessary?

If you experience discomfort or sensitivity in a specific area of your tooth, it may be a sign of tooth decay. This symptom serves as a warning for potential issues such as cavities, cracked teeth, or excessive wear. To determine if you have a cavity, we use several diagnostic methods, including:
  • Visual assessment
  • Probing/palpation
  • X-rays

Based on the results, a diagnosis and treatment plan will be formulated. For minor cavities, we might suggest monitoring the situation. However, if the cavity is severe, painful, or located in a difficult-to-reach area, a dental filling is typically recommended.

During the filling procedure, the decayed portion of the tooth is first removed. A filling is then applied to "fill" the cavity, helping to protect the tooth from further decay.

What to Expect After Getting a Dental Filling

  • Following the administration of local anesthesia, your dentist will ensure that the area is fully numb. Once the injection is complete, you should experience relief from any pain.
  • Before placing the new filling, we will remove any decayed tooth material or old fillings and thoroughly clean out the cavity.
  • The dental filling is then carefully crafted and inserted into the cavity, providing a protective barrier against future decay.
  • After placement, the filling will be polished to achieve a smooth and properly shaped surface. Additionally, a bite test will be performed to ensure that the new filling aligns correctly with your other teeth.
